Marshmallow Flower Tea

Preparation & application recommendations for the perfect tea experience

To fully release the mild floral aroma and the valuable plant compounds of the gently dried marshmallow flowers (Althaea officinalis), the traditional covered steeping method is recommended:

• Dosage: Add 1 heaping teaspoon (approx. 1–2 g) of the loose flowers to a cup.
• Infusion: Pour approximately 200 ml of fresh, boiling water (approx. 95–100 °C) over the flowers.
• Steeping time: Cover the cup and let the herbal tea steep for 4 to 6 minutes. Covering is crucial to ensure that the delicate, volatile floral aromas and essential nuances remain in the infusion.
• Serving: Strain the flowers afterwards using a fine tea strainer. The tea develops its velvety, mild flavor ideally on its own, but can be harmoniously rounded off with a little natural honey or a squeeze of lemon if desired.

Proper storage & freshness guarantee

As a pure natural product without preservatives, marshmallow flowers are sensitive to external influences. Please follow these instructions to preserve the natural color, scent, and freshness until the last cup:

• Cool & dry: Store the tea mixture in a dry, cool place at a consistent room temperature. Avoid humid environments (such as direct proximity to the stove or kettle).
• Keep away from light: Protect the delicate flowers from direct sunlight to prevent the natural pigments from fading.
• Aroma protection: Reseal the packaging airtight after each use or transfer the flowers into a dark, odor-proof tea caddy so that no foreign odors are absorbed.
